Amazing schnitzel

You need to taste this schnitzel. I googled best schnitzel in Nuremberg and this restaurant did not disappoint!

Absolutely recommended!!!

We’ve visited this wonderful place 2 adults and 2 kids after a very long trip and had for dinner the schnitzel and two of the suggestions, pork and lamb chops. The waiter was honest to tell us that as the portions were big,we should have smaller portions for the kids. The food was more than delicious!I don’t think that I’ve eaten better in Germany in the past...Pure,traditional taste!Food made by people that they enjoy cooking! The chef ????‍???? is a woman. For sure this lady loves creating in her kitchen! At the end we asked the catalog for the dessert. The waiter once again asked us if everything was alright with our orders and proposed, instead of ordering 3 desserts (too much as even the 2 we couldn’t finally eat),to have the 2.I’ve eaten from both of the desserts, couldn’t resist...Excellent too! We really enjoyed being there!

A very nice surprise

One can be fully surprised that this restaurant labelled as being a “typical German” one offers also Italian dishes. We got delicious golden chanterelles served with Italian pasta in tomato sauce. Italian red wine went very well with that dish.

Totally German - in the best sense

The ambience and style is almost overwhelming. Rugged wood furniture, red/white cross stitch tablecloth, a butter churn and other old stuff under the roof and on the walls. Bordering kitsch - but in this place it’s just authentic. So is the food and wine. We had an excellent pea soup with a touch of mint, scallops and tiger shrimp. Lamb chops, schnitzel (of course). Another highlight is Kaisersmarn for dessert (a favorite that I had so far only seen on the ski slopes in Austria). We had a brilliant white Grauburgunder for the first course (only 24€/bottle!) - and a “lightweight “ somewhat disappointing Spätburgunder for the main course. That one was not worth the next morning headache.

Best Restaurant in Nuremberg!

Our company exhibit at the toy fair in Nuremberg every year and this is one of the highlights of our visit to the city! Heidi and her team are friendly, efficient and so welcoming. The food is outstanding and restaurant has a cosy, warm, friendly atmosphere. Just what you need on a cold evening. I had the pork in pepper sauce this time and it was one of the best meals I’ve had. Well done Heidi and we look forward to being with you again next year!

Wonderful find

We walked in right after they opened but they were full. When they found out we could be done by 7:30pm, they seated us. Two of us hand the goose breast special , which was superb. The crusty pork shoulder was wonderful too. We tried to make reservations for another night we were in Nuremburg, but they could not accommodate us.

Not just another traditional German Restaurant

On the river? Yes. Very traditional decor? Yes. Then add generations of tradition, the softest, lightest dumplings ever created, pork that falls apart as your fork touches it, hilarity of guests breaking into song as they toast their schnapps, sisters and Mom lovingly creating food and fun - this is a must find - tiny, warm, welcoming, English spoken, you will leave laughing and smiling.

Cozy and friendly

We visited this restaurant on our last night in Nuremberg. This is a very cozy traditional restaurant, with a bit of international flair to the menu. They have noodles in addition to traditional German dishes. The staff is very friendly at the prices quite reasonable.
