The Madison Hotel Hamburg with its 166 rooms is ideally situated between Elbphilharmonie, Speicherstadt and the city, just below the town’s emblem – St. Michaelis church. From our hotel, you can reach all places of interest on foot and explore Hamburg. We provide excellent transport connections to the highways as well as to the public transport. All of our rooms and suites are at least 35 m² large and offer, amongst other things, a spacious working area with modern technology and a large and comfortable bed with a high-quality mattress. A spacious bathroom and a fully equipped kitchenette with refrigerator await you in your air-conditioned room. Our Marley’s restaurant presents a wide range of international dishes. The breakfast buffet is served from 06:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. and on Weekends and holidays even until noon. Directly in the house, there is the 3,500 m² Meridian Spa fitness & wellness oasis. Our guests can use the Meridian Spa Friday to Sunday free of charge.

Great Place

My first stay ever (but certainly not the last ...) at The Madison in Hamburg was delightful. No matter what I asked for - the extremely friendly and professional staff always went the "extra mile" to make me feel comfortable. The room was extraordinarily spacious and thorougly designed to provide sufficient storage even for guests with a lot of luggage. It was very clean with a kitchenette equipped with a coffee machine (Nespresso or a local brand), a fridge and a 2-flame-cooker. The bathroom with shower over bath was very spacious and pleasant (with stereo speakers). There are 2 guest washing rooms in the hotel with washing machines, dryer and irons/ironing boards. Very convenient for a long-termin stay!! The restaurant has a small, but very nice menu. The location is unbeatable: only 1 minute walk to the port and an underground station (which is acutally overground ...) and several bus lines, 2 minutes to St. Michael’schurch (der Michel). And even without using public transport (which I preferred mostly due to the current Covid situation) it only takes a 10-15 minute walk through safe neighbourhoods to the main shopping areas or the Hafencity with the concerthall Elbphilharmonie and various cafés and restaurants. I also very much appreciated the connection to Meridian Spa, where I could benefit of their services as a "day guest" (gym and wellness at a high standard) at reduced rates. If I had to summarise my experience, I would like to thank the Madison hotel and staff for 6 very pleasant, reviving and enjoyable days in Hamburg! I cannot wait to come back in spring 2022.

“As a good as a five star hotel in China”

We booked a year ago to go to a concert at the Elbphilharmonie, but this was postponed for a year because of Covid-19 and then cancelled. We decided to come anyway because the hotel had offered to keep last year’s price for us. Glad we did. My wife’s comment (above) says it all. We particularly liked the tastefully decorated interior - rooms, lobby and lounge. All the staff we dealt with were friendly and helpful. It is a nice touch that the hotel recommends other restaurants in the area although their own (Marley’s) is pretty good itself. All this in addition, of course, to the points made by others about the excellent location (can’t remember if anyone mentioned the practical kitchenette area - it’s worth a mention.) . So we shall certainly be back, as soon as we manage to get tickets for a decent concert again!

Great independent hotel

This is a great independently owned hotel in a great location in Hamburg. There is a reason this is one of the top ranked hotels in the in the city. The hotel is on a quiet location. However, it is perfect if you want to see different areas of the city. Its basically a 10-15 minutes walk to the Town Hall, Elbphilharmonie or St Pauli. A few things to point out about the hotel: • The rooms are really spacious. I was in a 2+ week vacation and this was by far the largest room I stayed in. The bedding /bed was awesome and had great nights sleep. Everything spotless. * Breakfast was really good. Very large buffet but you could also order omelets etc. Wait staff were excellent and very friendly. * The hotel is connected with a Meridan Spa. It’s a separate business but its right next door. I did not use it. However, from what I saw the facilities and gym look really good. * Staff were all excellent and helpful. Its great to see an independent hotel doing so well.

Absolutely Wonderful

I cannot recommend this hotel enough. The staff are freaking amazing. They go above and beyond. From check in, asking numerous questions, AMAZING staff. I had to find a way to post some gifts to the United Kingdom. Going to the UK was part of this trip but we are not allowed as we are Canadians (the Commonwealth) Had we been Americans Well let’s not go there. Anyway the front staff actually help me mail this parcel and I am forever grateful. Sam at the bar was outstanding. To top everything else off our room was incredibly clean, the bed was so comfortable the bathroom was huge the linens and pillows were amazing and I slept like a dream. I also forgot to say that our room was ready for us at 11 AM when we arrive from a very long flight from Toronto through Frankfurt. This was an amazing blessing to us. I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel and honestly can’t wait to come back some day.

A lovely stay

My first stay in Hamburg for quite a while (1987) often arriving and venturing on elsewhere into Germany. Not this time and what a find, the Madison has everything just right despite COVID. Upon arrival at reception, Robert was both professional and personable. With the restaurant closed, room service was quite the novelty as was breakfast again delivered to the room. Room 538 was quite the size and had the magnificent views of St Michaelis church. Located a short walk from the Cap San Diego Museum as well as the impressive Old Elbe Tunnel, there is certainly enough to keep the traveller busy. With a healthy dollop of coffee shops in the immediate area, there are enough open spaces to just go and wander and soak up the tapestry of maritime charm in this vibrant city
