A much longed for return visit achieved
This was our second visit. We discovered this gem 2 or 3 years ago as an overnight on our way home from Italy and Austria. We love its very special position looking out over meadows. The rooms in the new wing were our only experience and we had the same room with dual aspect and a balcony overlooking the meadows. The rooms are very modern but superbly appointed. Evening meals can be chosen from a great menu and the family run business is very friendly. We stayed for 2 nights this time and vowed it would be for more next time. This gave us the chance to walk to the Eistobel Gorge nature park, a lovely wooded ravine with a rushing river and waterfalls. I have kept a video on my phone of the panorama from the balcony across the meadows in the early morning light and play it when I want to be back on holiday! The indoor pool is so relaxing with full length glass doors looking out on to the views. Can’t wait for the next holidays!
Nice calm place in the countryside.
We stayed in this family-owned "Landgasthof Pension Sontheim" for one night while on a road trip around the Alps. The location was a bit away from the autobahns but the calmness of the little village was the thing we were awaiting for at that point of our trip. The owners were very helpful and friendly. The room was huge and the bathroom was well equipped. The only notable thing was that there was no soap and shampoo available in the bathroom. The Wi-Fi worked perfectly. The restaurant has a large selection of different dishes and the breakfast was good. Prepare cash for paying the room. No international credit cards were accepted as payment but this was not a problem because there is an ATM in the Maierhöfen village.
