Just thank you!!! It was the most delicious food in Frankfurt. Thank you for fish soup, ravioli and mushrooms

Just had dinner here last weekend. It so reminded me of a beloved family restaurant that we frequented often in Rome (Peroni, the beer makers). Back to Portofino in Frankfurt. . . Had a wonderful main dish called Grandma’s Fusilli (pasta) with lamb. Very tasty and filling. Took half of it home for lunch the next day. Wine is good and affordable at under 5 euro a glass. I had Pinot Grigio. Dessert choices are numerous. We couldn’t decide what to order, so our waiter suggested a “sampler” plate. Thought I had died and gone to heaven when it arrived. And also thought we’d never finish it, but we all wanted to lick the plate LOL! Service was helpful and friendly. I have lived in Frankfurt for 12 years now and will be coming back here often. Suggest ordering the specials and discovering how European Italians eat. Don’t be put off by the food displayed as you enter the door. Yours will be cooked fresh and delivered to your plate direct from the steaming pan it was cooked in. Make a reservation to ensure a table.

Had a lasagna and was nothing but perfect. Was the price real good for this quality, the place is highly recommended.

Portofino Ristorante & Pizzeria Try what I had! Spinach and fine risotto stuffed homemade ravioli (on the menu as totelloni) with a generous, peppery, buttery gorgonzola and sliced almonds sauce. An equally generous portion size of four large pastas continues to melt in your mouth and never ’separates’. I even managed to taste my husband’s delicious bolognese-inspired, amply cheesy lasagna. Although a wonderfully garlicky bread basket accompanied the meal, it mainly served as decor only in that we couldn’t eat so much. Desserts are homemade and the wine and beer are very reasonably priced. No room for dessert, sadly, but the suggestion of tiramisu was tempting. By the end of the welcoming and lengthy visit, at which there is no rushing by the staff, and after a futbol game on the outside tv in the semi-enclosed terrace, the cost of meal, including one glass of the Montepulciano wine, two beers and a double espresso was just 34 Euros. This was our second visit in a week, and we were made to feel at home like the mainly local, regular clientele. It appears to be family owned. It is family friendly and dog friendly. Barking and smoking permitted. Our hotel (Aria Hotel), several winding streets around, yet nearby, suggested Portofino to us for what would be our first dinner in Frankfurt. (We had eaten authentic German fare for lunch--- also a good review.) We shared a Margherita pizza, which was thick crusted with a tangy sauce and a little-less cheese than I normally prefer. Again, it was more than enough for my husband and I to share.

Wonderful restaurant with a true Italian flair to it. I have been going to Portofino since 2007 when I first moved to Frankfurt. It is cozy, with an indoor and a covered patio area. It is not fancy...it is rather cozy with a homily feeling to it. The owners and staff (all Italians) are very friendly and are always open to special requests and improvisation (yes I have been there many times). No matter what you want: pasta, pizza, salad, meat, fish...the food is amazing!!! They use fresh and quality ingredients and prepare everything themselves. The prices a really fair specially for the quality that they offer. I recommend it and always take friends there to share this experience with them. I hope you will enjoy it too :-)

Total bill came out to 71 ero with service Life time experiance

You can really feel when someone is cooking from love! Their kitchen is nothing but perfect. I eat there often and not once i had complains! Prices are fair and the staff are nice and pleasant. It is not a beautiful restaurant. But you come in and you feel the family invited you to lunch ;) highly recommended!

I visited Frankfurt in August 2015 and ined four times at PORTOFINO. Once with friends but the three other times alone. I can truly say this place is among my "best restaurants in the world". The cooking is basic taken to a high level, as in true Italian cooking. I soon forgot about the menu card. Why? On entering, the chef normally has the delicacies of the day laid out in the restaurant on a biig table. One day it was hugeBoletus mushromms. So I said to the chef. "What can you do with these" and as he said he could grill them fwith fish I said. "Go ahead". On asking for the menu for choosing a starter, he said "No no, I shall finds some good things for you" and he did.
