Delicious lunch under shady trees.

A hot August Saturday lunch under the shady trees in a quiet corner of the city. Lovely choice of four starters, four mains, four desserts ... impossible to make a selection without denying ourselves other delights! Hospitable, discreet service, good home made bread and amuse-bouche. A highlight was the generous plate of Noix de St Jacques served inventively with a pea and mint gazpacho; we finally decided on the steak and the veal to follow - both of which were beautiful. Ridiculous at lunchtime, but when we saw the desserts on other tables, we had the minty creme brûlée and the Chocolat Noir too. Staggering away, happy and replete, we resolved to return for the dishes we hadn’t tried this time round!

Great food and nice ambience

We had dinner at Le 4. We ate inside, rather than outside because it was cooler inside and we were away from smoking. The menu is well balanced with most bases covered. The quality and presentation of the food was excellent and the service was pleasant. The wine list also provides a good selection. Le 4 is a nice venue for dinner.

Original and imaginative

We were delighted to try the menu du jour at "Le 4". They have an original and imaginative approach - the plates are nicely decorated and the food is somehow lighter in fat but richer in taste - a rather healthy way to eat indeed. Very good restaurant, and quite excellent for the price.

wonderfully good!

We were at le4 for the 4 time of our lives :) We come from Basel Switzerland, and me and my partner are foodies, we do eat at michelin starred restaurants (we did make more than 10 three stars), but this place is just a treasure! We had a discussion today that it definitely has 1 star food wise, but not service (although it’s good, but it’s maybe not too formal for michelin judges). I had foie gras and angus beef, which were excellent, my partner had tartar and risotto with prawns, which were exceptional. really, for foodies with nice ambience, some style - the place to BE! The personnel recognised me and welcomed, and it was a wonderful touch! Really, if you love food and visit Mulhouse - it is a place to visit! As we are coming back again and again and again :)

Amazing food

In our first visit in Mulhouse we came across this restaurant purely by chance. First we smelled the aromas then we noticed the little yard with the tables under the trees. We didn’t have a reservation but they would accommodate us if we didn’t mind staying for a little more then an hour. The has another reservation afterwards. We didn’t mind and thank God we stayed!!! Excellent food, great service and happy faces around making happy noises while enjoying their food! Small card, prices maybe a little more expensive than other restaurants in the area but totally worth it! Tip: you can always visit on weekdays for lunch and have a similar experience for about 20€ per person for a full course!

Very impressed

We just returned home from a day trip to Mulhouse and we were talking the whole way back about the amazing dinner we had in Le4! Very friendly service, the yard in front of the restaurant was ideal for dinner and the food was fantastic both in taste and presentation. Would recommend it to all our friends in case they are in Mulhouse!
