Quality prevails

Highest quality food, imaginative dishes served by the charming cook’s sister. This was a very enjoyable dinner. We were quite a few times in this restaurant with special ambiance, but we have never been served the same dish. The cook has much phantasy! The Loire wine fitted also fine.

An unexpected pleasure - comes with a price!

Behind a far from noteworthy facade on a far, far from noteworthy road between Germany and France, there’s this hidden gem. An interior with a winter garden that somehow reminded us of El Celler De Can Roca. A very friendly, stylish, knowledgable owner that speaks all key languages. Her sister is the chef, and she creates wonderful, innovative, colorful great-tasting, Michelin-star dishes. This restaurant is really good. And it knows it, given the quite hefty price tag. 17 Euros for a welcome cocktail is a bit over the top. So is 8,50 for a bottle of water. Having said that, this was a very memorable experience: and that is sometimes priceless (according to a certain commercial, that is).

Excellence: Worth more than one Michelin Star

From the moment you enter ’La Bonne Auberge’, personally greeted by handshake by the owner to the last bite you are part of a wonderful gastronomic experience. The impeccable, flawless service, the personal attendance, and, of course, the truly exceptional food in a super elegant environment make this restaurant THE choice when in the Saarbrucken area. Best is to choose the Menu (changes to the courses are possible). Just ask Madame Egloff for her recommendations; she will take care of you. A magical place of indulgence. Reservation is necessary.

gastronomy for a reasonable price

I know it is bad to mention the price of a restaurant before saying how good it tastes but it matters too. As much as I would like to become a regular of the Parisian three stars, I still know I cannot afford it. Here, you get an affordable price and beautiful food. What more to ask? The foie gras is amazing, as well as the salads, all the fish and the meats. Actually, I’ve never found anything I did not like. So let’s say the foie gras belongs to my favorite foods, as well as many other things... The menu du marche, meaning the lunch surprise menu lets you discover the talents of the two sisters who run this place and it is done beautifully. I love la Bonne Auberge.

Excellent lunch at a wonderful place in a grey neighborhood

I spent my youth in the area but discovered this restaurant for the first time. Stiring-Wendel is a typical old-style mining village with lots of small houses. The restaurant fits in from the outside so good that we couldn’t find it at the first time. As soon as you reach the dining room the lights and the flowers are very surprising. The setting is very very french with amuse-gueule and petits-fours at the end. The quality of the dishes is very high but kind of expensive also. We had veal kidney, pigeon and steak. "Le menu des desserts" sounded very good and even a bit regional. All in all a very good restaurant with lots of high priced items. Make sure that you are not in a hurry! Our meal (no starter) took over 3 hours! And better bring a well-charged credit card.

Never Had a Better Lunch!

No matter what your expectations, La Bonne Auberge will surpass them. Absolutely superb cuisine and atmosphere. The owners are as hospitable as family, with warm welcomes and easy smiles. The food? I’ve been to many Michelin starred restaurants and have never had a finer meal. Chef Lydia’s dishes are intuitively imaginative, and each bite is a tribute to the art of cooking. Excellent food !!!

After a long time we came back to La Bonne auberge and no regrets at all. We had the surprise menu which was tailored to our wishes and each of the dishes was wonderful. Service was friendly and professional. The room well decorated. A wonderful evening.

Great sunday lunch.

Visited on my way from Prague to Paris. Always looking for interesting places on my way. First michellin staref woman-chef in my experience made me stop for lunch. Attention to details - that what makes this place special. Very creative compliment by the kitchen. Starter (goose liver) was pretty simple though. The second chief I’ve met who uses flowers in his (her) creations. First was 3 starred chief from Alba region. I’m not sure if it worth visit from Paris or Frankfurt, but if you somewhere around it is deffinitely must. At least because of woman chief which is very unusual.
