Expensive but excellent

Vietnamese with a twist is the key in this beautiful restaurant. A bit on the pricy side but if you think guormet its ok. And the food is gourmet. Many well known dishes on the menu - but dont expect to just get the basics! Very good attentive service. For weekends I recommend to book ahead.

Top Class Vietnamese Restaurant

This restaurant is a must visit for any fan of Vietnamese food in Munich. The interior is classy and tasteful, the staff friendly and attentive and the food is just incredible. We had 2 starters and 2 mains which was plentiful. Although the restaurant may be slightly more pricy than other Vietnamese restaurants in the area, you won’t be disappointed if you come here. I eat out regularly and this was without a doubt the best restaurant meal I have had this year; it really was just first class in every respect.

A nice break

We were traveling through Germany and in Munich for Oktoberfest. We decided we wanted a break from traditional German food and decided to try Banyan. The food, service and decor were all outstanding.

3 times in a week

I’ve never had Vietnamese food before but we thought we’d give it a go. Both the cuisine and the restaurant are fantastic. Out of 4 nights in Munich we ate here on 3 of them. I know I’ll be back in 2 years but hope it isn’t that long. Vietnamese food isn’t a big thing in the UK or at least not where I live. Shame.

A great experience, wonderful service, very good food.

We made a last minute decision to eat here after reading the reviews. Despite being very busy, we were offered a seat at the bar, which ended up being a great opportunity to see the construction of many beautiful cocktails. I’d recommend making a reservation in advance, as this place is clearly very popular. The food was delicious, and the cocktails were excellent. I’d highly recommend the Asia Basil Smash.

Great Vietnamese restaurant

We were told about the restaurant by the receptionist at our hotel and thought we would take a chance as we had not booked, fortunately there was a table free. It was a very popular restaurant, however, as it soon filled up. The waiting staff were very friendly and efficient and the food was lovely, with a good choice. I had spring rolls to start and then crispy duck in hoisin sauce, As another reviewer has mentioned it is below street level but well signed and the lighting gives a lovely atmosphere. I would definitely recommend giving it a try,

lovely atmosphere, very good service, great food!

Banyan is hidden a bit below street level, but the arched rooms give the restaurant great atmosphere and it is lovely and tastefully decorated. Reservation is essential. The service is very polite and efficient. The menu size was almost a bit too much for my liking, as there is too much choice to make a decision, but what we had was excellent. Also in terms of quantity, rather large portions. Yes, it is more expensive than the take-away shop at the beginning of Goethestrasse, but it is all worth it!
